Electronic shifting offers light, consistent operation but needs charged batteries. Mechanical shifting needs no charging and often suits tighter budgets. On gravel, chain control and the right derailleur also matter; choose a coherent package.
BrakesHydraulic disc
Hydraulic disc brakes can provide strong, controllable braking, especially in rain and descents. Rim brakes require a suitable frame and braking surface. For loads and long descents, consider the complete brake, rotor, mounting and heat-management combination.
